Frenship ISD’s Central Office transformed into a festive wonderland for approximately 270 Special Education students during the annual Trick-or-Treat Frenzy. Each department featured creative themes, including Fiesta, Under the Sea, Circus, Candy Shop, Jungle, Pumpkin Patch, Monopoly, Pirates, Savanna Bananas, Encanto, and more, turning the office into a boo-tiful, spook-tacular Halloween experience.

Jennifer Pierce, Director of Special Education, shared the significance of the event for both students and staff.

“At Central Office, some of the staff don’t often get to see students due to the nature of their job. This gives us a chance to remind each staff member of our ‘why’ and the big impact that their job has on these students and their families. For students, it is a fun experience outside of their normal classroom and campus that they get to have with their families,” said Pierce.

The Trick-or-Treat Frenzy provides students with experiences they might not otherwise have, fostering a sense of inclusion, belonging, and joy.

“We always strive to give our students experiences that they may not be able to be exposed to outside of school, due to their disabilities. We want them and their family to feel included, seen, and loved when they come to school and when they come to our events,” said Pierce.

Families have consistently shared their enthusiasm for the event.

“They LOVE it!! It is something that families look forward to every year. The creativity and efforts from the Casey staff that go into this day make it special for them,” said Pierce.

Staff also benefit from the event, enjoying the chance to interact directly with students.

“EVERY year, the people that we get to work with show up and outdo themselves. It gets better and better every year, and I am so proud to not only get to provide the experience for our kids, but to work alongside people who understand why our jobs are important,” said Pierce.

This fang-tastic event is a highlight of the fall season, creating lasting memories for students, families, and staff while emphasizing community, inclusion, and festive fun.
