Hello Ridgewood Families! My name is Katie Wertman! I have taught in Frenship ISD for 13 years. I spent the first 12 years of my teaching career as a Kindergarten teacher. This will be year 14 and my second as a 1st grade teacher. I graduated from Baylor University with my Bachelor of Science in Education. I am certified to teach Early Childhood through 6th grade as well as ESL.

 

I am married to my wonderful husband, Wes. We have two children. Aiden will be a Junior at Shallowater High School this year and Anniston will be in 3rd grade at Ridgewood. 

 

I am so excited and honored to be a part of Ridgewood this coming school year! I believe it is important to build strong relationships with students and families. It is important to build a culture of compassion, respect, and kindness because a child's education is a team effort.
