1st Grade Teacher
Hello Ridgewood Families! My name is Katie Wertman! I started my teaching career in 2011. I spent the first 12 years of my teaching career as a Kindergarten teacher before moving up to 1st grade. I graduated from Baylor University with my Bachelor of Science in Education. I am certified to teach Early Childhood through 6th grade as well as ESL.
I am married to my wonderful husband, Wes. We have two children. Aiden graduated high school last year and Anniston will be in 5th grade at Ridgewood.
I am so excited and honored to be a part of Ridgewood this coming school year! I believe it is important to build strong relationships with students and families. It is important to build a culture of compassion, respect, and kindness because a child's education is a team effort.
Hi Ridgewood Families! My name is Gillian Mitzel! I am going to be in Mrs. Wertman's classroom as her student teacher this year. I am currently a senior at Texas Tech University studying Elementary Education. I have a one year old cat, Mooney. I am so honored to start my teaching experience here at Ridgewood. I am so excited to learn and grow with your students this year!
